As parents, when Alex struggled with depression and anxiety we had no real understanding of how to support him. Even though we thought we were doing all the right things in helping him and finding him resources, we now realize we did not do enough and we could have had more of an impact in helping him directly than we thought.
We wish we had known there was a crisis line and if we did, been more comfortable to use it.
If you are your loved one, especially your child, is feeling like they may cause self-harm, contact the local 24-hour crisis line at 541-774-8201
