Executive Director & Founder

Tami Garcia

Graduating with honors in 2017 with her Bachelors in Human Services with dual minors in communication and psychology, Tami went even further to obtain her Masters in Business Administration, once again graduating top of her class. Those who know Tami , will never second guess the many glass ceilings that she not only breaks, but crushes.

Tami's vision for Alex's Story is to create a successful and sustainable non-profit built around individuals who not only preach values such as integrity, community, authenticity, selflessness, compassion and service, but live by them in their own personal lives.

When you think of Alex's Story, you automatically will think of Tami.  Tami, Alex's mom, has sacrificed her time and most importantly, her ability to grieve, to create Alex's Story with urgency.

Tami, co-founder of Alex's Story and executive director has the professional experience and education required for this uphill battle of increasing preventative efforts in what often seems to be a solely harm reduction focused society.

Board Director & Treasurer

Tomes Garcia

Tomes is nothing other than pure authentic and empathy towards our current fentanyl crisis. As Alex's dad, Tomes has transformed his guilt as a father in all the things he'd wish he would have done differently or would have known into ensuring other parents are equipped with knowledge and tools to help their children.

Tomes has not only direct experience of losing our Alex to an accidental fentanyl overdose but experience as a child growing up around a normalized drug use environment.

These shared experiences are critical when talking to our community, including our youth, so they don't feel alone. tomes brings shared experience, passion and years of leadership to Alex's story and will be working directly on our designs and day to day operations.
